A coalition 36 groups that oppose raising the amount of ethanol in gasoline went on the offense, sending a letter to Senate leadership asking them to reject the proposal. The group includes OPEI, which said a higher ethanol blend "could damage millions of forestry, lawn and garden, and other small engine products currently housed in consumers' garages." The Obama administration has postponed a decision on the increase from summer to fall.
