In the next two to three years, game-based learning will become common in schools, according to a global report. The 2010 Horizon Report, compiled by the New Media Consortium, identifies six technologies that educators increasingly will incorporate into lessons, including game-based learning, mobile devices and cloud computing, which can allow educators and students worldwide to collaborate. In the next four to five years, students will more frequently use augmented reality and flexible displays -- such as screens inside books -- to learn, the report found.
