Smart clothes can help managers make good first impressions on peers and employees, Tobak adds, although they still need plenty of charisma and business smarts to back up that initial impression. "When someone's smartly dressed in business attire, I think sharp and savvy. Unless of course he turns out to be an idiot. Then he's just an idiot in a suit," Tobak writes.
