After Federal Reserve reports suggested that factory output was starting to falter, it is a relief to find that the latest manufacturing data confirm a robust expansion for the sector, according to The Economist. Despite troublesome unemployment, manufacturing activity expanded at a faster rate last month compared with July and turned out better than economists had expected.
