Applications for Apple devices are helping children with autism and other special needs find more ways to communicate. The apps, such as Proloquo2Go and Adastrasoft's Expressionist, are part of the growing trend of augmentative and alternative communication -- or AAC -- apps that are allowing children to tap icons to express how they're feeling. The AAC apps are more expensive than other apps but cost far less than the thousands of dollars normally charged for devices with such features.
