The Environmental Protection Agency recently unveiled action plans that would tighten regulations for the use of benzidine dyes, hexabromocyclododecane and nonylphenol ethoxylates under the Toxic Substances Control Act. "These action plans lay out concrete steps EPA intends to take to address the risks associated with chemicals commonly used in this country," said Steve Owens, assistant administrator for the EPA's Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention.
