A Manhattan-based bakery called Crumbs has worked its way onto the Inc. 500 list of America's fastest-growing companies, racking up $23.5 million in sales and becoming the largest cupcake producer in the U.S. Co-owner Jason Bauer attributes the company's success to a willingness to adapt to market conditions, calculated risk-taking and the quality of their product. "It's all about the cupcakes," he says. "They're the stars of the show and everything else is window dressing."
