ExxonMobil seeks to ramp up drilling operations under the first development phase of the West Qurna oilfield in Iraq and has granted a contract for well services, said James Adams, vice president of Exxon's unit in Iraq. Speaking at an energy conference in Qatar, Adams said the drilling boost is included in plans to raise the field's production rate to 2.3 million barrels per day.
