The Florida Biofuels Association and other groups will hold a meeting in Gainesville, Fla., on Sept. 17 to promote energy-crop farming in the state. Meanwhile, Florida's potential for growing crops such as camelina and kenaf was among the topics discussed at the recent Florida Farm to Fuel Summit. At the event, Bill Vasden Jr., chairman of the Florida Feedstock Growers Association, said that his group saw revenue of $2.8 million on 2,500 acres planted with two crops of camelina and one crop of kenaf.
