A teaching hospital going up in Haiti offers a glimpse of the future, said Dr. Paul Farmer, who has spent his life working for better health care in Haiti. The 320-bed hospital is one of 29 projects costing a total of $1.6 billion being developed in Haiti, which was devastated by an earthquake in January that killed 300,000 people. Crews broke ground on the hospital last week and expect to finish it within 18 months.
