A program being launched at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital aims to send text messages to remind heart transplant patients in their teens to take their medications in order to prevent organ rejection. "Despite extensive educational programs for families and pediatric heart transplant recipients, significant medication noncompliance still occurs with alarming frequency, particularly with adolescents, which can prove deadly," a hospital official said.
