Terry Kuseske, an openly gay city commissioner and LGBT rights leader in Kalamazoo, Mich., died Thursday after battling pancreatic cancer. Kuseske, who helped pass the city's LGBT nondiscrimination ordinance, was elected last November. "[H]e encouraged us to work every day for fairness, equality and peace," said Narda Beauchamp, a close friend of Kuseske.
