Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., said if Republicans regain control of Congress after the midterm election, they will revisit the overhaul of financial regulation, including the newly created Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. "The bill is so sweeping and such a game changer in many ways that it's incumbent upon us to revisit it," Shelby said. Lawmakers have already started to try to change the act. The House Financial Services Committee is looking into changes to provisions in the bill related to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
