Shoppers with lower incomes visit stores more frequently but spend less per visit, according to research from SymphonyIRI Group. In the category, 49% say they track spending and make decisions based on budget while shopping, compared with 38% of shoppers with higher incomes.
Kraft Foods has introduced Athenos fat-free Greek yogurts in California and plans a wider release early next year. The new product, available in plain, strawberry, peach, blueberry and honey varieties, is in line with the doubled sales of Greek yogurt every year for the past five years, according to a brand manager with Kraft Foods.

The Florida Board of Education is moving closer to making a decision on chocolate milk in schools -- an issue that was stalled a year ago. Officials said they took up the question again because it appeared it could take years for the federal government to take the lead. On Tuesday, officials said they would solicit opinions from doctors and others about the consequences of a possible ban before their next meeting in December.
