The TSA is increasing the number of employees with "secret" clearance as part of an effort to prevent terror attacks. Plans call for about 10,000 workers, or one-sixth of the agency's workforce, to receive the clearance, which will give them access to classified information. TSA Administrator John Pistole said giving front-line workers access to more information will improve their judgment and decisions. He also noted that expanding the number of employees with the clearance is also part the TSA's broader goal of becoming a risk- and threat-based organization.
