Brand ambassadors can be a good way for companies to put a human face on their products -- and social media is becoming an important part of that process, writes Stephanie Marcus. Old-media stalwarts such as the "Snapple Lady" are tweeting, while companies such as Wal-Mart, Microsoft and Coca-Cola have designed socially savvy brand-ambassador programs that rely heavily on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to connect with customers.
