Social media has reached saturation point, with an incredible 80% of U.S. Web users now regularly making use of social-media tools -- and that's both an opportunity and a challenge for marketers, writes Nate Elliott. With so much social-media clutter online, brands need to find ways to make themselves stand out, either by finding credible advocates to amplify their message or by targeting less noisy digital demographics. "Put simply, make sure you're not just following the pack in terms of audiences, ideas, or execution -- because the pack is exactly the type of social clutter you're trying to avoid," Elliott writes.
