The FAA said Tuesday it was backing off an earlier order requiring other planes to stay well back of Boeing's two newest models, the 787 and 747-8. "It was issued prematurely," said FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown of last week's order mandating 10 miles of separation. "There were a number of errors." A new order for the 747-8 is expected within a matter of days, while revised guidelines for the 787 will take more than a week, Brown said.
