A free-trade agreement expected to cut $4 billion a year in tariffs and streamline paperwork was signed by South Korea and the EU. "This agreement is by far the most important trade deal ever concluded by the European Union with one country and the first free-trade deal with an Asian country," said European Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso. The EU hopes to follow up with more trade deals across Asia.
