Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum has asked banks to resolve the foreclosure issue as officials from states across the U.S. are poised to launch an investigation into the crisis. "The first and foremost thing is to do it right, but we can't sit and do this for weeks and weeks," Mr. McCollum said. "It'd be very deadly for Florida's economy." Meanwhile, Tom Miller, attorney general for Iowa, is leading a coalition of about 40 of his counterparts in an investigation into foreclosure practices.
