Orbitz has won a temporary injunction barring American Airlines from pulling its flights from Orbitz's Web site. At issue is where the travel site gets its flight information. Orbitz gets its data from global distribution systems; American wants the site to get its data directly from the airline. The temporary restraining order ensures that American's flights will continue to appear on Orbitz pending a preliminary court hearing scheduled for Dec. 2-3. An American spokesperson noted that the judge's ruling was not a final decision and was confident that the court would eventually rule that American can end its relationship with Orbitz.
