Shares posted mixed results across the Asian-Pacific region Wednesday as traders tried to evaluate the likely fallout from increasing tension between North and South Korea. Markets in Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo closed down after rebounding from a dramatic sell-off early in the trading day. South Korea's Kospi Composite fell as much as 2.4% through the day but closed down 0.2%. Japan's Nikkei 225 gave up 0.8%, China's Shanghai Composite advanced 1.1% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.6%. Taiwan's Taiex fell 0.4%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 edged down 0.1% and New Zealand's NZX 50 added 0.3%.
