A study in Health Affairs found 66% of Americans surveyed support comparative-effectiveness research to determine best practices, but 75% also fear it could be used to control costs and ration health care. Experts agree the potential of CER to improve health care quality outweighs the risks, and one expert noted, "CER is not about limiting choices; it's about informing choices."
