Cloud computing is offering cybercriminals new avenues for launching denial-of-service attacks that can prevent users from accessing critical data. Perpetrators are increasingly able to target specific applications and can disrupt multiple users that are hosted on the same system, experts observe. Fortunately, the cloud also makes it possible to deploy resources more quickly to compensate for lost resources, they note.
