The Obama administration on Tuesday launched a 10-year, $10 billion quality-of-care initiative that experts said could be one of the biggest benefits of the health reform law. Although the new plan focuses on Medicare and Medicaid, the government also is partnering with the private sector to improve the health care system for everyone by aiming to cut down on hospital-acquired infections and ensuring better prescription adherence, while also guiding best practices in an eight-state pilot program led by the new Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.
