An Idaho school district has launched its first virtual school, the K-8 Vallivue Virtual Academy. The district is hoping to reach many students who are being home-schooled, including those who are gifted, those who participate in demanding sports or extracurricular activities, and those with physical conditions or behavioral issues that make it difficult for them to attend traditional schools. The district is the second in the state to open an online school, but there are seven charter virtual schools in Idaho.
