Just Born's Peeps brand has introduced a holiday lineup that includes a new variety, a caramel chick coated in milk or dark chocolate. Also offered for the holidays are marshmallows shaped as snowmen and trees, peppermint-flavored stars, and marshmallow reindeer in a chocolate mousse flavor.
Fifteen cake flavors, plus miniature cheesecakes, pies and tarts, are among the new store-brand bakery items at Price Chopper Supermarkets. Customers can find a $5 coupon on Facebook to use toward a 5-inch dessert in the Central Market Classics Decadent Desserts line.
The 400 members of the Consumer Goods Forum announced plans to reduce deforestation and phase out hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants. Muhtar Kent, CEO of Coca-Cola and co-chair of the forum, said, "The initiatives ... are good examples of the kind of bold and positive action that will be needed to move the needle in combating climate change."
Nestle is launching a campaign for its Polo brand that asks mint consumers if they are suckers or crunchers. It's the first campaign for the brand in about 10 years and aims to "re-ignite consumer love for the brand by reminding them about the playful mint with the hole," said a company representative.
