Senior attorneys in the twilight of their careers should look at spending more time on pro bono work, according to officials from the Senior Attorney Initiative for Legal Services project. Firms that participate in the project are asked to review their billable-hours protocols to ensure that senior lawyers are given the opportunity to engage in pro bono work. "There is a tsunami of lawyers entering their 60s and heading toward retirement. We thought this would be a great way for them to use their legal skills while helping to meet a growing need for legal services," says SAILS Project Chairman Marc Fleischaker.
