The U.S. government plans to spend more half a billion dollars to expand its embassy in Afghanistan and build two new consulates. The $511 million commitment comes as the U.S. plans to begin pulling out U.S. forces by July 2011. "This next generation of Afghans growing up, we hope that they come to this embassy, they're welcome here, and this is going to be the new normal for Kabul," said Ambassador Karl Eikenberry.
