American beautyberry is a lovely native plant that can survive in different soil conditions but most gardeners avoid to grow it, writes Norman Winter. Most gardeners may not prefer the American beautyberry because it is mostly found in the woodlands so it may be difficult to incorporate the plant into a traditional landscape design. The plant may also be seldom found in gardens because it's deciduous and hard to find in nurseries.
