An increasing number of complaints to state authorities show that a new breed of homeowner has been pulled into the foreclosure mess: people who have never missed a payment or who have fully paid off mortgages have been served with foreclosure notices and, at times, even evicted from their homes along with their belongings. As a result, class-action lawsuits against lenders are on the rise.
