President Barack Obama signed the tax-cut bill into law late last week. "We are here with some good news for the American people this holiday season," Obama said. The law, which the White House and congressional Republicans drafted this month, provides a two-year extension for many Bush-era tax cuts, including keeping the tax rate on dividends and capital gains at 15%.
