The best-educated U.S. workers are increasingly being hit by joblessness. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said the unemployment rate for workers with at least a bachelor's degree increased to 5.1% last month, the highest level since 1970, when the government started keeping records. Until recently, the well-educated have been largely insulated from the worst effects of the economic downturn. The overall unemployment rate rose to 9.8%.
