John Stumpf, CEO at Wells Fargo, said the bank is beefing up its wealth-management staff and would consider acquisitions in that area. "We're adding people there, and if there were the right opportunity at the right time, that could be interesting to us," Mr. Stumpf said. He said Wells Fargo is "suboptimized" in the wealth-management arena because its market share is smaller than its total deposit base.
