Businesses near Coos Bay, Ore., will regain access to a 111-mile stretch of track along the state's southern coast this summer. The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay recently closed a deal with Union Pacific to acquire the remaining 23 miles of the line, which stretches from Eugene to North Bend. The agreement for the Coos Bay Rail Link calls on the port to pay about $114,000 to satisfy the railroad's existing obligations on the line.
