European researchers from the EUREKA project ModPolEUV have discovered a method of rebuilding human body parts through laser-based nanotechnology called Extreme Ultra-Violet. The technology uses a beam that can create polymeric materials, or nano-structured polymer surfaces. "Using one type of polymer material or another will help you grow different types of muscle, nerves, cells adapted to a human heart, bone or any other part of the human body," said Johannes Heitz, the project's lead coordinator.
