The increasing cost of gasoline is hitting small-business owners, who say they might have to start passing along the increases to customers. "Every day that I see on the news that it's gone up over a hundred dollars a barrel, I cringe. That's coming out of our profit line," said Sharon James, co-owner of a carpet-cleaning company. James said her costs for fuel increased 32% in January from a year ago.
