Veterinary officials in Colorado are seeking to raise public awareness and support for a statewide initiative dubbed "Corral," or the Colorado Rapid Response for Ag & Livestock, designed to meet the challenge of an animal-disease outbreak, such as foot-and-mouth disease. Nick Striegel, Colorado's assistant state veterinarian, noted that livestock producers will need to be brought on board for such an initiative to be effective. "We'll need producers to help us out. We'll need industry partners," Striegel said.
