A new video game puts players in charge of running a major manufacturing plant, in a move that developer Siemens hopes will educate the public about what it really means to be a plant manager. The online game, Plantville, lets gamers install Siemens-branded industrial and infrastructural products and to score points by improving plant safety, on-time delivery, employee satisfaction and energy management. "We were looking for a way to make manufacturing cool," says Siemens marketing chief Tom Varney.
