The compromise reached on the New York state budget is an "outrage" that disproportionately imposes state spending cuts on New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. The mayor's aides said the city may be forced to lay off more than 6,100 already slated to lose their jobs. A spokesman for Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the budget deal calls for "shared sacrifice from communities across the state."
