Educators in a Washington state school district say they are seeing more texting lingo in students' written school work. Teachers say they correct students' use of abbreviations and shortened words and are working to help students understand when more formal language is called for, such as in school assignments or communications with potential employers. "I'm always on them about professional communication," teacher Mike Kleiner said. "You want to look smarter than your competitor. Misspelling isn't going to cut it."
