AT&T executives said Wednesday that they were surprised by the lack of churn in the first quarter after Verizon Wireless gained access to the iPhone. "The impacts were significantly less than many in the financial community and media expected, and frankly, the impacts were less than we expected," said Rick Lindner, AT&T's chief financial officer. The carrier plans to aggressively develop its Long-Term Evolution-based network in order to begin service this year with 4G-enabled handsets in tow.
