Business leaders need to take a stand against "the tyranny of short-termism," argues Ceres President Mindy Lubber. The focus on short-term results rather than sustainable growth is simply bad business, Lubber argues, and companies that take a longer-term view will have the last laugh. "Sustainability will be a central nexus for corporate innovation and growth as the sustainable global economy takes hold. Companies that resist by clinging onto short-term strategies ... do so at their peril," she warns.
