Battle lines are being drawn over a Federal Communications Commission proposal to encourage broadcasters to part with unused portions of their broadcasting spectrum in a series of "incentive auctions." Broadcasters say they're worried the plan to repackage 120MHz of wireless spectrum will cause interference and degrade signal strength. FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski has called the project "the single most important step that will drive our mobile economy."
