Do you see a difference between "applicants" and "candidates"? According to human resources consultant Sharlyn Lauby, applicants are people who apply for a job with your company, while candidates get chosen for an interview. If that's true, she wonders, does the act of interviewing a candidate create "some sort of relationship (albeit a short one) that deserves more"?
