Oilseeds have great potential as feedstocks for biofuel, experts say, but there hasn't been enough research into which crops are best for particular climates and fuel-production processes. "I would anticipate that there is going to be more demand for oilseeds, not only going to biodiesel but also into the technology that can [convert] those agricultural oils into products such as jet fuel," says Jeffrey Steiner of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service.
