The federal government is making progress on the IT-overhaul plan it announced in December, as cost savings are being realized through a shift to cloud computing, the Obama administration's chief information officer, Vivek Kundra, told a Senate subcommittee. Kundra said his office has found 75 computer systems that can be moved to the cloud, and it plans to shut down more than 100 data centers this year.
