Supermarket chain Aldi says it is phasing out phosphates from its laundry detergents, citing negative effects on bodies of water. The move will take effect in Aldi's 250 Australian stores by 2013. "This initiative will not only benefit the environment but also our customers who are increasingly aware and concerned about the environmental impact of their purchasing decision," said Aldi buying manager Stefan Kopp.
