The London Stock Exchange said it will begin offering trading in FTSE 100 index futures the first week of June. The offerings, which will be hosted on LSE's Turquoise system, are seen as the first in a series of futures and options releases aimed at challenging NYSE Euronext's Liffe and Deutsche Boerse's Eurex. "Participants are crying out for a genuinely competitive derivatives market in Europe," said Adrian Farnham, CEO of Turquoise.
