The obesity epidemic has forced grocers to rethink approaches to healthy food and nutrition, which can be seen in ingredient labeling and nutrition tags, in-store dietitians, health screenings and weight-management programs. Companies showcased their programs at the FMI Health & Wellness Conference, including Skogen's Festival Foods of Wisconsin, which has dietitians who advise shoppers on meal planning, and Marsh Supermarkets of Indiana, which takes nutrition education to schools.
